Again this year, we had the opportunity to take an evening excursion on Lake Michigan. These images are from the excursion boat. Just to point out, night-time photography using a hand-held camera on a moving boat is difficult to do well.
The main point of bringing the camera was to see if I could improve on previous attempts to photograph fireworks. Much is written about this challenge, all of which assume that the photographer puts the camera on a tripod on solid ground. Since my camera and I were on a boat without a tripod, I had to invent my own technique.
