This oasis was prettied up for zoo visitors. We did have the opportunity to visit
a real oasis near the Joshua Tree National Park and it looked much like this one.
Oases exist where groundwater intersects with a geological fault. The fault allows
the groundwater to rise to the surface.

So far, I have not seen a roadrunner in the wild, much less attempted to photograph
one. This is my roadrunner photo proxy for the time being.

Javelinas are wild pig-like animals weighing around 40 pounds. They are common in
Sedona, but I never saw any when we were there.
