Another option is to photograph plants at a greenhouse or conservatory. I took the following images at Orchids by Housermann, a greenhouse in Villa Park. Because orchids come in unusual shapes, they are quite fun to photograph. I especially like pitcher plants which supplement photosynthesis with insects. (Insects are a good source of nitrogen.)
