Scenic Bermuda

Bermuda, located in the Atlantic Ocean, is 1,070 km east-southeast of North Carolina in the USA. It is at about 32 degrees N and 31 degrees W. Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory. People speak English. Cars drive on the wrong side of the road. Tourism is a major industry.

Some Geology

Bermuda is an archipelago formed from several extinct volcanos, possibly 4. These igneous mountains, mainly basalt, are capped with limestone.

Bermuda This retaining wall is made of basalt, not the best material for permanent construction. Basalt is porous and crumbles. However, basalt is widely available in Bermuda.

Clock Tower Shopping Mall at the Royal Naval Dockyard

As mentioned on the previous page, the large cruise ships dock at the Royal Naval Dockyard. The dockyard complex contains a number of amusements for cruise line tourists, including a shopping mall.
