A More Modern Paris - Parc de Bercy and Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir
August 30, 2014
Elevated Terrace - Quai de Bercy
About 40 feet below us and to the left was a busy street and the Seine River. Below
us and to the right was the Parc de Bercy.
Near the footbridge we found these quirky sculptures.
Footbridge - Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir
We crossed the river on the bridge.
Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir, a pedestrian bridge over the Seine River between
the Parc de Bercy and Bibliothèque Nationale de France
The other side of the river.
Then we returned via Parc de Bercy
Joggers at the Cascade. The Cascade is a stairway plus waterfall that descends from
the terrace to the park.
I was surprised to find this Great Blue Heron fishing in one of the ponds. I thought
that Great Blue Herons were exclusive to North America.
Correction: This is a Grey Heron.
